McCathern Partner Stephanie Almeter was recently named to Texas A&M University’s 12 Under 12 Young Alumni Spotlight for 2020 by The Association of Former Students.
The elite list annually recognizes 12 Aggie alumni who have “graduated in the past 12 years for their outstanding accomplishments in business, civic service, and philanthropy, and for representing Texas A&M’s core values of excellence, integrity, leadership, loyalty, respect and selfless service.” To be selected, a former student must apply and then be approved by a peer review board of former award recipients, Texas A&M foundation members, donors, and university faculty.
“I am so grateful and humbled to receive this award,” Stephanie said. “This recognition means a lot to me personally, and I am committed to continuing to exhibit the core values of Texas A&M University in both my personal life and professional endeavors.”
The 12 Under 12 Young Alumni Spotlight was created by the Young Alumni Advisory Council, an organization of young former students at Texas A&M who advise The Association’s staff on young alumni matters. It has been awarded every year since 2014, and past winners include military veterans, business leaders, entrepreneurs, educators, attorneys, doctors, and other leaders who have all made a positive impact on the world in a short period of time.
Stephanie graduated cum laude from Texas A&M in 2008 with degrees in political science and government. While there, she was awarded the J. Malon Southerland Aggie Leader Award, which recognizes servant leadership. She was also awarded the Aggie Bar Scholarship for exceptional promise in the legal field. Stephanie later attended Baylor University School of Law before joining McCathern in 2011 and being promoted to partner in 2017. She focuses her legal practice on general, civil, business, and employment litigation from the firm’s office in Dallas.
